Vapour blasting, also called wet blasting or aqua blasting, mixes fine abrasive with water and fires it at the surface with compressed air. The water cushions the impact, so the media cleans without hammering the metal, and it flushes the surface as it goes.
The result is a smooth, bright, almost satin finish that dry blasting cannot match. That is why it is the go-to process for alloy engine cases, carburettors, wheels and other visible aluminium parts, and why so many restorers use it before a rebuild.
Because the water carries the spent media away as it works, there is far less dust than with dry blasting and far less grit left sitting on the part. We handle one-off restoration parts as well as small batches, and every part is checked by hand before it goes back to you.
The water makes it gentler and less dusty, and it leaves a smoother, brighter finish. It is the one to choose for show parts and alloy engine components.
Yes, with the right preparation. We seal and mask openings before blasting, and we still recommend flushing any internal passages before a rebuild.
It shifts light coatings and grime well. Heavy paint is better stripped first, then vapour blasted for the finish.
Most customers leave vapour blasted parts bare because the finish is the point. If you want extra protection, talk to us about the options.
