Powder coating is a dry finish. A fine powder is sprayed onto the part, which holds an electrostatic charge, and the part is then cured in an oven so the powder flows into a hard, even coat that is tougher and more chip resistant than most wet paints.
We do it the bespoke way. Our powder coating is fully manual and offline, so every part is hung, sprayed and checked by hand rather than sent down a conveyor line. That is what makes the difference on odd shapes, one-offs and anything where the finish really matters.
It is also a cleaner process than wet spraying. Powder coating gives off no harmful solvents or airborne pollutants, and our booth has a waterfall filtration system that draws the air through a curtain of moving water to catch loose powder.
